Built for the Co-op and Condo Communities We Serve
Where we came from, how we think about meetings, and why we work the way we do.
Origin
We started BuildingMeet in 2020. Co-ops and condos suddenly needed to conduct annual meetings remotely, and most of the off-the-shelf tools they reached for weren't built for shareholder votes, proxy mechanics, or condo-specific governance.
We began by filling that gap, then shaped the work into a service in its own right. Once boards saw a properly run virtual meeting — with by-laws-aware quorum strategy and a clean, auditable vote — most didn't want to go back to self-running the meeting on a generic webinar tool.
Our Approach
Two threads run through everything we do. The first is deep familiarity with NYC co-op and condo governance — by-laws, proprietary leases, declarations, the social rhythm of a contentious shareholder meeting. The second is a working background in software and website development.
Most vendors have one or the other. Generic webinar tools are technically reliable but don't understand the procedural specifics of shareholder votes. Generic property managers know the governance but don't have the technical fluency to run a secure digital vote. We have both, which is what allows us to run meetings that are procedurally correct and technically clean at the same time.
What We Believe
- 01
Meetings should be calm.
A well-run meeting feels uneventful from the chair's seat. Our job is to make the procedure invisible and let the board lead.
- 02
By-laws should govern.
The right answer to most meeting questions is already in the building's governing documents. We read them carefully so the meeting follows them precisely.
- 03
Votes should be unambiguous.
Every vote we run produces a result that holds up if it's ever questioned — with an audit trail that lets the outcome be reconstructed and verified.
- 04
Board members shouldn't have to be tech support.
Volunteers serving on a co-op or condo board signed up to govern, not to operate webinar software. We handle the technology so they can focus on the meeting.
Service Area
We work with co-op and condo boards across the NYC metro area: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, and Westchester County.

Confidentiality
We never publish client names or building details. Co-op and condo governance is sensitive, and we treat it that way. References from other boards and management companies are available privately on request during a quote conversation.
